Breakdown: Game manager, accurate pocket passer that excels off play action. Throws a good deep ball and has nice touch on intermediate throws.  Benefited from many designed timing routes.  Decent accuracy on the move in boot leg plays.  Pocket awareness is good, knows when the pressure is near and gets rid of the football when in trouble.  He ran a pro style offense and would be a perfect fit into a west coast scheme.


2. Joe Mixon Running Back from Oklahoma

Career total: 300 attempts for 2027 yds.& 17 TD, 65 rec. 894 yds & 9 TD (26 total)

Speed, power, elusiveness and excellent hands in pass game.  Quality pass blocker, a true 3 down back.  Runs well between the tackles and can bust out a run to the house at will.  He shows patience, follows his blocks and can burst to the next level.



Joe may be the best running back in this draft class but was not invited to the combine. He had a domestic violence incident with a woman in 2014 and the video went viral.  He has cleaned up his act since then and has been a role model citizen.  Not sure which round or which team will take the public relations hit with drafting him but whoever does will get a dynamic runner with an amazing skill set.

3.  Ricky Seal-Jones  Wide Receiver from Texas A&M


6’5″ 243 lbs.

40 yard dash: 4.69

Career  totals: 123 receptions for 1,442 yards and 10 touchdowns

Draft projection: 3rd to 5th round

Breakdown: Tall explosive receiver with playmaker ability. Red zone threat with exceptional jumping ability on 50/50 balls and back shoulder fades.

4.  Ahkello Witherspoon Cornerback from Colorado


6’3″ 200 lbs.

NFL Combine rating: 5.73

40 yard dash: 4.45

Draft prediction: 3rd to 5th round

Career totals: 71 tackles, 24 pass deflections and 3 interceptions

Breakdown: Tall lanky corner with good press coverage and quality ball skills.  Maintains sticky hip to hip coverage, stays stride for stride in man defense.  Tackling could be better for run support, he tends to monitor the pile on.

5) Duke Riley Linebacker LSU


NFL Combine: 5.43

40 yard dash: 4.58

Career totals: 78 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 pass deflection

Draft prediction: 3rd to 5th round

Breakdown: ILB / OLB

Quality tackler, speedy backer with range vs run and covers a lot of ground. Relies on instinct and recognition to disrupt plays.  Capable of playing in 3rd down coverage schemes.

6) Jaleel Johnson Defensive tackle from Missouri


6′ 3″ 316 lbs.

NFL Combine rating: 5.67

40 yard dash: 5.38

Draft projection: 2nd to 3rd round

Career total: 2 yr starter: 113 tackles, 18.5 TFL & 12.5 sacks

Breakdown: Quick feet, well-balanced and pursues with a non stop motor to the ball carrier. Disruptor at point of attack, also sheds blocks quickly in rush defense. 

7) Jarrod “Chunky” Clements from Illinois

NCAA Football: Illinois at Iowa

6’2″ 302 lbs. DT/NT

NFL Combine rating: 5.0

Career total: 99 tackles, 26 TFL, 6 sacks

Draft projection: 5th to 7th round

Interior pass rusher with quick hands that uses the swim move effectively. Basic 3 technique defensive tackle that needs some help with footwork.

8)  Johnathan “Rudy ” Ford from Auburn


5’11” 205 lbs. Safety

40 y dash: 4.49

Career total: 208 tackles, 12.5 TFL, 6 INT, 2 sacks, 1 FF, 3 FR 11 PD and 1 TD

Draft prediction: 3rd to 5th round

Breakdown: Strongest in class with 20 reps of 225 lbs. bench.  Consistent and effective tackler in run defense.  Can play single high, nickel and box safety.  Has experience in return game and is exceptional in special teams.

9. Devonte Fields from Louisville


6’4″ 245 LBS.

Career totals: 165 tackles, 51.5 TFL, 26.5 sacks, 2 INT, 6 PD, 1 FR, 2 FF

Draft prediction: 4th-6th round

Breakdown: DE / EDGE/OLB  4-3 or 3-4 scheme fit.

Speedy edge rusher and stout run defender.  Can blitz from stand up or 3 point stance.  1/3 of his tackles were for a loss in his college career.  Athletic enough to step outside as OLB and play zone coverage in flat.  Off the field issues with domestic violence will drop his stock on draft day.


10. Jeremy Sprinkle Tight End from Arkansas


6′ 5″ 255 Lbs.

40 yard dash: 4.69

Combine rating: 5.65

Career totals: 921 yds. 11 TD

Very good blocking skills in both pass & run.  Tall big body target & very handy in red zone.
